Planned maintenance to our smartcard system is scheduled on Saturday March 5th between 07:30 and 12:30 – during this time you can purchase Smartcard tickets from tpexpress.co.uk but will not be able to collect your ticket until after 13:30 - Tickets purchased prior to this time can still be loaded to Touch Smartcards at our Gates and Ticket vending machines. Travel using your Touch Smartcard is not affected.

I did not receive a seat reservation. What should I do?

There are various reasons why you may not get a seat reservation:

  • The ticket you have purchased may be a flexible ticket such as a Anytime, Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak ticket, and you may not have specified your requirement to book a seat reservation.
  • Seat reservations may not be available on the journey you are taking e.g. if it is a short distance service.
  • Seat reservations may not be available with the train operator you are travelling with.
  • The train operator may not have released seat reservations at the time you made your booking. The train operator will only open seat reservations when the timetable has been confirmed by Network Rail. This is usually 12 weeks ahead of your travel date.
  • The train on which you wish to travel is full at the time of booking.
